Psalm 102:1-2, 13-14 "Hear my prayer,O Lord! And let my cry for help come to You. Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my distress; incline Your ear to me; in the day when I call answer me quickly....You will arise and have compassion on Zion; for it is time to be gracious to her, for the appointed time has come. Surely Your servants find pleasure in her stones, and feel pity for her dust."

 

 

Lord God, we ask that a loud cry would rise up within us, that we would call out to You in a time of distress with confidence knowing that You hear us and answer us quickly. Hear our prayer, O Lord! Thank you for listening to our cries for help. Listen to the cries of Your people, Israel, and give us Your heart of compassion for them. Arise and have compassion on Your people. Hear their prayers, O Lord! Be gracious to Israel, for the time has come. We pray Your heart of compassion for her condition. Give us Your heart, Lord, and let the apple of Your eye become the center of our vision. Amen.

 

 

Psalm 22:4-5 "In You our fathers trusted; they trusted, and You delivered them. To You they cried out, and were delivered; in You they trusted and were not disappointed."

 

God, we read in the Bible of Your great faithfulness. When those who trusted in You cried out to You, You delivered each one. We ask, therefore, that the people of Israel would once again put their trust in You, the God of their fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. In the midst of great difficulty, we ask that they would cry out to You and that You would deliver them from all their troubles. Reveal Yourself to them. Show them again Your great faithfulness and that You are a God who does not disappoint.

 

Isaiah 27:6 "In the days to come Jacob will take root, Israel will blossom and sprout; and they will fill the whole world with fruit."

 

Thank you, Lord, for Your eternal Word and Your promises to Jacob. Prosper Israel. Let her take root, blossom, and sprout. Jesus said that only those who abide in Him will bear much fruit. We ask that Israel will abide in their Messiah so they can bear much, much fruit and that their fruit will fill the whole world. Let the fruit of revival come to Israel, and from Israel to the ends of the earth. Amen.



SIGNS OF THE TIMES

 

 

"And it shall be in the last days that I will pour forth my Spirit...I will grant wonders in the sky above, and signs on the earth below...The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the great and the glorious day of LORD shall come. Acts 2:17-21; see also Joel 2:28-32
 

Next year at Passover there will be a full lunar eclipse, a phenomenon also known as a "blood moon." As the earth's shadow passes across the moon's surface, the moon will turn a deep cooper-red. A full lunar eclipse is a relatively rare occurrence; even more so, a lunar eclipse on a Biblical feast day.

The full lunar eclipse on Passover 2014 will be the beginning of a "tetrad" --a sequence of four consecutive full lunar eclipses. Surprisingly, these four consecutive full lunar eclipses will occur on four Biblical feasts and will be bracketed by a pattern of solar eclipses in close proximity.
 

 

Genesis 1:14 "Then GOD said: Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens...for signs and for seasons..."

 

 

Lance Lambert says in his October 2012 Middle East Update: "Now according to the rabbis, and I think that in this they are absolutely right, signs in the sun are for the Gentiles, or for the nations, and signs in the moon are for Israel, which means that God is saying something about Israel, seeking to gain attention about something that He is about to do or is doing, and secondly, something to do with the nations."

THE LUNAR TETRAD FALL ON:

15 April 2014, the first day of Passover (followed by a partial solar eclipse on 29 April 2014)
8 October 2014, the eve of Tabernacles (followed by a partial solar eclipse on 23 October 2014)
4 April 2015, the first day of Passover (preceded by a total solar eclipse on 20 March 2015, the eve of the first day of the Biblical year 1st Nisan 5775 on the Hebrew calendar)
28 September 2015, the first day of Tabernacles (preceded by a partial solar eclipse on 13 September 2015, the day before the Feast of Trumpets, which is the Jewish Civil New Year's Day.)


Over the last 500 years, there have been three lunar tetrads falling precisely on Biblical Feast days. A fourth will soon occur. Let's look at the three past occurrences and overlay some contemporary events.

 A lunar tetrad occurred on Passover and Tabernacles in 1493-1494. In the previous year, King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella had signed an edict for the forceful expulsion of the Jews from Spain. In that same year they had sent Christopher Columbus on the voyage that led to the discovery of America--hugely significant for the Jews of Europe and Russia, as America was to become a major safe haven for them.

For the next four centuries there was no lunar tetrad coinciding with Biblical feast days. Then from the mid 20th century, in the space of under 70 years, there were three lunar tetrads, and each fell precisely on Passover and Tabernacles.

The first occurred at a time of profound prophetic fulfillment: Passover and Tabernacles 1949-1950. In that period Israel was blossoming as a newborn nation, following her formation on 15 May 1948 and her miraculous victory against overwhelming odds in the 1948-49 War of Independence. These were momentous events surrounding the restoration of the Jewish people and their nation, accompanied by the release of a growing stream of Jewish people making aliyah to their ancient homeland from all over the world.

Another lunar tetrad fell precisely on the same Biblical Feast days in 1967 and 1968. Each witnessed a "blood moon" at Passover and Tabernacles. In 1967 Jerusalem was being reunified, again in the midst of military  conflict and triumph against overwhelming odds. Much land was added to Israel. Jerusalem, "trampled underfoot by the Gentiles" (Luke 21:24) for 19 centuries, was being restored to the Jews. Was this sign in the heavens marking the fulfillment of the "times of the Gentiles?"

With 2014-15 lunar tetrad approaching, what lies before Israel and those praying for her in these coming months? What momentous prophetic fulfillment might be approaching in this coming season? The signs in the heavens are surely alerting us, declaring that the re-gathering of Israel is a vital part of the Lord's agenda, that Israel remains central to His redemptive purposes.

"Behold, He who keeps (guards; watches over) Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep." Psalm 121:4

Just as He is the watchman over His land and His people, so the Lord is inviting us to join with Him also as watchmen for Israel.

Let's see the signs and prepare ourselves! Let's humbly ask for wisdom and understanding, diligently seeking the Lord for His direction in how to pray at this time.

PRAYING THE SCRIPTURES FOR ISRAEL

Oh that my head were waters and my eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!

 

O Hope of Israel, its Savior in time of distress, why are You like a stranger in the land or like a traveler who has pitched his tent for the night? Why are You like a man dismayed, like a mighty man who cannot save? Yet You are in our midst, O Lord, and we are called by Your name, do not forsake us!.....

 

You, O Lord, rule forever; Your throne is from generation to generation. Why do You forget us forever; why do You forsake us so long? Restore us to You, O Lord, that we may be restored; Renew our days as of old.

 

 

Lord God, Hope of Israel, I ask that tears would flow freely from my eyes over the condition of Israel. I ask that my heart would be filled with compassion, because Israel is in great distress. Be their Savior and their Hope. Be near to Your people and to the city You love, Jerusalem. Lord, You rule forever. Your throne is established from generation to generation. Restore Israel completely to Yourself, O Lord. Renew them as in their former days so that You may receive all glory, honor, praise and blessing. Amen!

Alas, O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and lovingkindness for those who love Him and keep His commandments, we have sinned, committed iniquity, acted wickedly and rebelled, even turning from You commandments and ordinances. Moreover, we have not listened to Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings, our princes, our fathers and all the people of the land....To the Lord our God belong compassion and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against Him....

 

And now, O Lord our God, who have brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand and have made a name for  Yourself, as it is this day--we have sinned, we have been wicked. O Lord, in accordance with all Your righteous acts, let now Your anger and Your wrath turn away from Your city Jerusalem, Your Holy Mountain; for because of our sins and the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people have become a reproach to all those around us. Lord, You are a great and awesome God, keeping covenant and steadfast love with those who love You and keep Your commandments. I ask that Israel would turn again to Your commandments and listen to Your holy servants. You are full of mercy and forgiveness, even in our rebellion. Make Your name known again through Israel in the same way Your name was known when You brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand. Let your anger and wrath turn away from Your city, Jerusalem. I ask that Jerusalem would be a praise in the Earth! Lord, let Your face shine brightly upon Your desolated sanctuary. I ask those things because of Your mercies. O Lord, hear. O Lord, forgive; O Lord, listen and take action. Do not delay! For Your own sake, O my God, act! The reading for this week 9-15 June is called Chukat-"Ordinance" (regarding the Red Heifer):

TORAH: Numbers 19:1-22:1

HAFTARAH: Judges 11:1-33

 



*Numbers 19: Ordinance of the Red Heifer. With the death of those offering incense in Korah's rebellion, the 14,700 who died by plague in the uprising shortly thereafter, and the prospect that hundreds of thousands would pass away in the wilderness wanderings, death hung over the camp continuously. There was need for an especial cleansing for those who came in contact with a dead person. "The wages of sin is death"-In Hebrew the very word for "purification" or "decontamination" (vs. 12) bears the word for sin chet within it. A cow, perfect and never yoked, was burned in totality outside the camp, with cedar wood, hyssop and scarlet fed into the burning. Then the ashes were stored outside the camp. When needed, they were mixed with "living water" (vs17, Hebrew: mayim haim) and used as a decontaminant (literally, "water kept apart to expel, serving as a sin offering", vs. 9b) for those who had come into contact with death.


PLEASE PRAY: from the letter in the New Covenant written specifically to Jews of the First century: "For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Messiah, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the Living God?" (Hebrews 9:13-14).

*Numbers 20:10, 24: MOSES: "Hear now, you rebels! Must we bring water for you out of this rock?" YHVH: ".because you both (i.e. Moses and Aaron) rebelled against My word at the water of Meribah." A great leader of courage, compassion and humility, Moses nevertheless appears to have had a 'blind spot' regarding anger. One sees it quietly alluded to or mentioned a number of times during his life (Exodus 2:12, 11:8, 32:19, Lev 10:16, Numbers 11:10, 16:15). Although there is a place for anger, if it is released in the flesh or outside of God's timing, it will "not produce the righteousness of God" (James 1:19). In the end, it triggered in him the very rebellion against God's command which he accused the people of when he spoke to them (20:10) rather than to the Rock. Titus 1:7 speaks of the necessity that God's stewards be "not quick-tempered".

PLEASE PRAY: For leaders in the Body of Messiah in Israel to be trained by the Holy Spirit in self-control. Pray that we will deal with issues which the Spirit discloses, which otherwise could cause us, in moments of critical decision under intense pressure, to operate out of our emotions or woundings.


*Numbers 21:9 (Alter): "And Moses made a serpent of bronze and put it on a standard, and so then, if the serpent bit a man, he looked on the serpent of bronze and lived." The word ness here translated "standard" happens also to be a modern Hebrew word for "miracle". John 3:14-15: "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." II Corinthians 5:21: "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."

Numbers 21:34-35: "Do not fear him (i.e. Og, King of Bashan), for I have delivered him into your hand, with all his people and his land.So they defeated him, his sons, and all his people, until there was no survivor left him; and they took possession of his land." Deuteronomy 3:11: "For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the giants." As Israel arrives 38 years later at the border of Canaan, only one of the fabled "giants" which had terrified their fathers remains. God gives them exactly the same directive he'd given their fathers.and this time they take Him at His word and destroy him. The significance of defeating this Og was huge-he is mentioned many times in Deuteronomy, Joshua, I Kings, Nehemiah and the Psalms.

 

The territory which this text says God Himself "delivered into Israel's hand" would eventually became part of the territory allotted to the tribe of Manasseh. It is this same area which modern Israel took from Syria in the 1967 War-the Golan Heights. The territory southward to the Arnon River was taken from King Sihon of the Amorites and eventually became territory of the tribes Reuben and Gad. This area is presently occupied by the north-western part of the Kingdom of Jordan.

 PLEASE PRAY: That the "different spirit" of Caleb and Joshua which motivated this younger generation of Israelites would awaken again in Israel-that we would come to trust God for defeat of the many giants which have arisen again in the land to which we have returned.

Judges 11:23-24: "And now YHVH Elohei-Yisrael (Yehovah, the Israel God) has dispossessed the Amorites from before His people Israel; should you then possess it? Will you not possess whatever Chemosh your god gives you to possess? So whatever the LORD our God takes possession of before us, we will possess!"

 

Jephthah (Hebrew: Yiphtakh) has regrettably coerme by many to be dismissed (when thought of at all) because of an unfortunate vow he made regarding his daughter. But this has not always been so. The Bible remembers him as a heroic warrior (gibor-hayil) who, although born of a harlot, despised and dispossessed by the rest of his family, rose nevertheless to command the respect of both friends and enemies. He was a leader who trusted in the LORD for victory (vs. 9); a wise judge who made his agreements and pacts in the Presence of the LORD (vs. 12). He was intimately acquainted with the history of his land (vss. 14-29), acknowledging the LORD's hand in that history, and bringing it to bear in reasoning with his enemies so as to avoid conflict if possible. For Jephthah, judgment rested with the LORD. So highly respected was this man before both God and man, that he is included in the chapter of Heroes of Faith in Hebrews 11.

 

 PLEASE PRAY: For warriors like Jephthah to be raised up in Israel in the Last Days. Pray for God's oversight of those from broken families (there are so many)-that seeds of grace and faith will be sown which will catch and germinate in fertile soil! Pray for God's Kingdom to come in Gilead, that section of land (a western portion of the present-day Kingdom of Jordan) where the action in this chapter took place. It was from this land that the Prophet Elijah "who is coming first and will restore all things" (Malachi 4:5; Matthew 17:11) came forth-and from whence he was taken up into Heaven. Under the power of the Spirit of God, the prophet Zechariah foretold a day (Zech. 10:10) in which Gilead would one day be among the areas to which the houses of Judah and Joseph would be returned.

Gracious Father, take note of Your people, Israel, and do for them as You have promised.  Against all odds, may Israel give birth at the appointed time to laughter and joy. Thank you that the redeemed of the Lord will return with joyful shouting to Israel, and they will have everlasting joy and gladness. You are El Shaddai--All Sufficient One--who completely provides and satisfies His children. Continue to carry Your people, bear them up and deliver them for their Messiah's sake, until He returns for His own. Amen

 

 

Romans 11:25-27  "For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery---so that you will not be wise in your own estimation---that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in; and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, THE DELIVERER WILL COME FROM ZION, HE WILL REMOVE UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB. THIS IS THE COVENANT WITH THEM, WHEN I TAKE AWAY THEIR SINS."

 

 

Father God, I ask that we would not be wise in our own eyes, but that we would understand the mystery of Israel. Thank you for extending Your mercy and grace to the Gentiles by allowing them (me) to be grafted into the richness of Your tree of life. Cause the Church to fulfill her commission, to preach the Gospel to the whole world, so that the full number of Gentiles will come into the Kingdom and salvation will come to all of Israel. I ask that You would come and deliver the Jews--Your natural branches--and remove all ungodliness from Israel. Take away their sins and restore them to Yourself for Your Great Name's sake. Amen.

 

 

Isaiah 60:1-2 "Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness all peoples; but the Lord will rise upon you and His glory will appear upon you."

 

 

Father God, let Your glory rise upon Israel so that they shine brilliantly with Your presence. In the midst of much darkness in the Middle East and across the earth, I ask that You rise upon Your people. Let Your glory appear upon Israel, and may the God of Israel be exalted. Reveal Your salvation like a burning torch to Your Jewish people worldwide. Pour out Your spirit of revelation and grant favor to the completed Jews among the Messianic movement and use them mightily among their people. For Your Kingdom's sake, Amen.

PRAYER POINTS FOR TODAY

 

 

Psalm 122. June 7 was the anniversary according to the Gregorian Calendar when, in the Six Day War of 1967, the city of Jerusalem was reunited under Jewish rule after almost 2000 years of exile. We give thanks and praise to God:

• that we are able to go up to Jerusalem to give thanks.
• that He is good and His mercy endures forever. (Psalm 118:1)
• that over 800,000 people now live in Jerusalem and it is in the possession of the Jewish people.
• that His hand was over the events of 1967.
• that You, God, are fulfilling Your promises in our lifetime and that all which is not yet fulfilled will be fulfilled.
• that You are faithfully watching over Your word to perform it. (Jeremiah 1:12)
• for rulers to rule over Jerusalem in wisdom and righteousness.
• for Your care for the poor and the needy.
• that Yeshua is going to return to the city of Jerusalem.

Syria

• In recent days the rebels troops captured Syria's single border crossing into Israel at Quneitra on the Golan Heights. It was then quickly recaptured by the government forces. Austria has withdrawn its troops serving in the United Nations Peacekeeping Force on the Golan. Israeli authorities are warning farmers to keep away from the Syrian border as a few stray mortars have been landing in Israeli territory.

  I will love You, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.

  Psalm 18:1-3

   

PRAY:

• Please be our Protector, o Lord! Let Israel not put her trust in the IDF or in the UN but in You!
• Thank You, Lord that Your ways are higher than ours. (Isaiah 55:9)
• Use the IDF as a tool in Your hand, Lord. Give wisdom and calmness to the leaders of the IDF.
• Reveal any plans of the enemy to draw Israel into the conflict in ways or times which are not Your ways or times. Give discernment to the political and military leaders of Israel.
• Put a fear of the God of Israel into our enemies.
• Cause the destruction of every weapon - chemical, biological, anti-aircraft missiles and others - which are intended for use against Israel. No weapon formed against you shall prosper. (Isaiah 54:17)

 

There has been recent news of Russian plans to sell Syria a number of MiG fighter aircraft in addition to the anti-aircraft missile system. This again raises the possibility of a substantial shift in the balance of power in the region and threatens Israel in a major way.

Pray:

• that God would place a blockage in the relationship between Russia and Syria so that these major transfers of military capability would not happen.
• for Israel's leaders to put in place the plans for every eventuality.

• Isaiah 17:1 and Jeremiah 49:23-27 foretell the destruction of Syrian capital city Damascus. Whether we are witnessing the complete fulfillment of these words or only a partial fulfillment, some of this is happening today.
•  Pray:
  • for the Lord to have mercy on the people of Damascus.
  • that multitudes would come to a knowledge of the truth, recognizing that Islam leads only to death, but life, hope, salvation come from Yeshua.
  • Protect the Syrian believers. Make them a light in a very dark place. Give them wisdom to know when to stand up and when to hide, when to speak and when to be silent.

Iran

 

Jeremiah 49:34-39 tells of a breaking of powers in Elam (Iran) and an eventual restoration under the Lord's authority. Recent news tells of structural damage to Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant following large earthquakes in April. This encourages us that the Lord is answering our prayers.

 

Let us continue to pray:

 

that Iran would not be able to complete the building of a nuclear weapon.

• that the Lord would bring down the foremost of the might of Iran (Jeremiah 49:35) - the President, the Ayatollahs and all the pride of Islam.
• Cause the earth to swallow up Iran's nuclear facilities like you did with the men of Korah! (Numbers 16 especially verse 32)
• Help Israel and the nations know what they need to do.
•  

ISRAEL'S LEADERS:

 

 We need to pray for unity in the government particularly with regard to these ever-growing dangers from Syria and from Iran. Despite personal political ambitions we look to God to work among this group of men and women.

 

 Pray:

• for God's gift of unity to the government leaders.
• Create a solid long-lasting coalition.
• Grant them Your vision for the nation that they would put aside all political opportunism and the pursuit of personal advancement and ambition.
• Rein in their egos, Lord!

 



GOD'S ETERNAL COVENANT WITH ISRAEL

 

 

"And God heard their groaning and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. And God saw the children of Israel, and God knew." Exodus 2:24-25

 

 

"But for their sake, I will remember the covenant of their ancestors whom I have brought forth from the land of Egypt, before the eyes of the nations to be their God." Leviticus 26:45

 

 

Thus God's Covenant Remains with Israel:

 

"Thus says the Lord, 'If My covenant is not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth, then I will cast away the descendants of Jacob and David My servant, so that I will not take any of his descendants to be rulers over the  descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will cause their captives to return, and will have mercy on them."

 

 

Unconditional Nature of God's Covenant

 

Leviticus 26:42,44, 45; Psalm 89:30-37; Hosea 3:1

 

 

ISRAEL: GOD'S CHOSEN NATION

 

There are only two groups of people in all of history that God has chosen to identify as His very own. The first was the nation of Israel and the second is the Church.

 

 God calls Israel:

 

 "My firstborn son" (Exodus 4:22,23)

 

 "The People I formed for Myself" (Isaiah 43:18-21

 

 "My Delight" (Isaiah 62:4)

 

"My Treasured Possession" (Deuteronomy 7:6)

 

"The Apple of His Eye" (Zechariah 2:8)

 

A Nation Like No Other:

 

"And who is like Your people, like Israel, the one nation on the earth whom God went to redeem for Himself as a people, to make for Himself a name--and to do for Yourself great and awesome deeds for Your land--before Your people whom You redeemed for Yourself from Egypt, the nations, and their gods?"  2 Samuel 7:23

 

So the question is: Has God forgotten Israel or the Jewish People? I believe the Word is clear.

 

IT IS AN ETERNAL COVENANT WHICH IS NOT BOUND BY TIME, DISTANCE, LOCATION, OR GENERATIONS. NEVER ENDING!!! GOD SAID IT IN HIS WORD NO MATTER IF IT IS RECEIVED OR NOT.

 

GOD'S WORD SETTLES THE ISSUE! HE HAS NEVER FORGOTTEN ISRAEL OR THE JEWISH PEOPLE!!!
