Governments in turmoil surrounding Israel

Egypt is in turmoil. Inspired by a successful popular revolt in Tunisia, anti-government protesters have taken to the streets in Cairo and other Egyptian cities, determined to overthrown the current government. For thirty years, President Mubarak has ruled with impurity, suppressing dissent, and imprisoning those who disagree with his form of government. He is 82 years old and in declining health.
We need to be continually amazed by the relevance of scripture to daily events that happen in our lives. Egypt is primarily a Muslim country with a minority of Christian believers. It also has a deep seated suspicion of Israel. Yet, the LORD is going to cause a great change to happen in this nation. Isaiah prophesies that Egypt will be judged and then healed by God. Its inhabitants will come to truly know the LORD. Read Isaiah 19.

Are these demonstrations the beginning of these end-time events? Possibly, but we can not know for certain. One thing is for sure, this situation calls for our prayers.

The Moslem Brotherhood and other radical Islamic factions are wanting in the wings to assume power. The world does not need this situation in Egypt to turn into a radicalized Islamic government.

This week thousands of Hamas-led Palestinians have also taken to the streets in Gaza to protest against PA President Abbas' rule. Thousands of demonstrators also took to the streets in Yemen to protest against President Ali Saleha's 30 year dictatorial rule.
Pray for Egypt, Gaza, Yemen and Tunisia and cover the Middle East. Lebanon is also in a government upheaval adding to the tensions of the region.

Prayer Points

Pray the Lord would direct the outcome of these riots. Psalm 75:7
There is also a danger to Israel in that it could potentially find itself sandwiched between two radical Islamic regimes, should more radical elements prevail and overthrow President Mubarak in Egypt. Pray that the LORD establish the leadership of His choice in Egypt.
Pray that this violence does not spill over into Israel.
Pray for the government of Israel to hear the voice of the LORD.

Rain Needed Desperately In Israel

Lord, we join together on our knees in intercession on behalf of Your people,Israel, today.

Job 36:26-28 Behold, God is great, and we do not know Him; Nor can the number of His years be discovered. For He draws up drops of water, which distill as rain from the mist, which the clouds drop down and pour abundantly on man.

Lord, we ask for Your abundance of rain to fall on Israel. We ask for an outpouring of Your spiritual rain on the people in the land as well, Lord.

Job 37:5-6,11-13 God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend. For He says to the snow, Fall on the earth; Likewise to the gentle rain and the heavy rain of His strength. Also with moisture He saturates the thick clouds; He scatters His bright clouds. And they swirl about, being turned by His guidance, that they may do whatever He commands them on the face of the whole earth. He causes it to come, whether for correction, or for His land, or for mercy.

So Lord, we call upon Your voice to be released over Israel this hour. Let Your thunderous voice go forth over the land. Let it saturate the thick clouds with an abundance of rain.
Let the rain come and soak the land bringing forth an abundant harvest in this their hour of need.
We thank you, Lord for hearing our prayers.

Shake up in Israel's Government

There has been a shake up in Israel's government this past week.  The head of the Labor party, Defense Minister Ehud Barak, and four other Labor MKs (Members of Knesset - Israel's Parliament) left Labor and started a new party called Independence. The rest of the Labor's MKs left the government, but Independence then rejoined.  So Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu's government coalition is still strong.  In fact, Bibi sees it as stronger now that those who have leaned to the far left - have left.

PRAYER POINTS:
  • We thank You for dividing Labor since they were the party leading the charge to divide the land.
  • Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man (or government) sows, that shall he also reap.  Galatians 6:7
  • Hedge in Barak (who is still the Defense Minister) and use him for Your glory, Lord.
  • Give supernatural strength and wisdom to Bibi and his counselors to know how to steer Israel's ship through all the rough water she is now and will be in, in the near future.
  • We pray this Proverb for PM Bibi:  Proverbs  21:1  "The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water.  He turns it whichever way He wills.
  • Remove all Israeli politicians who are just out for their own political careers.
  • Raise up statesmen who will be like the sons of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do. . . (1 Chronicles 12:32)
Ultimately, we trust in You, that You will guide, protect, and use this nation of Israel for Your Holy Name's sake.

Psalm 103 :19  "The LORD has prepared His throne in the heavens.  His kingdom rules over all.
