SYRIA

We have been hearing that Russia is going ahead with its plan to sell "game-changing" S-300 anti-aircraft missiles to the Assad regime in Syria. Israel needs to know what action to take in the face of Assad becoming able to attack its aircraft at long range. Assad has also been speaking out more forcefully about attacking Israel. Meanwhile the European Union has been talking about the possibility of supplying arms to the rebel forces opposing Assad. Hezbollah have been speaking out about their role in support of Assad and part of this has been the (alleged) expulsion of Hamas from Lebanon because of their support for the rebels.

PRAY:

Give wisdom to Israel's leaders especially Netanyahu, Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon and IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz to know how to prepare for the possibility of Syria being supplied with these new weapons.

Thank You, God that the enemies of Israel are continuing to fight each other. (see 2 Chronicles 20 especially verses 22-23)

Thank You that You have promised that, No weapon formed against you shall prosper. (Isaiah 54:17)

Declare verses from Psalm 83 including: Do not keep silent o Lord. Make Israel's enemies like the whirling dust (verse 13). Let them know that You are most high over all the earth (verse 18).

Lord, fight on behalf of Israel and defend us!

We know modern Israel is not (yet) a righteous nation, yet we are still bold to claim that the bows of the wicked (S-300 missiles!) shall be broken (Psalm 37:14-15) Cause these missiles not to arrive or to malfunction or to be destroyed!

Cause the nations to be caught in their own pit (Psalm 9:15).

Confuse the enemies of Israel, o Lord! Put them to shame and turn them back (Psalm 129:5). Disrupt the relationships between Syria, Iran, Russia, China, Hezbollah.

Let God arise. Let His enemies be scattered. Let those also who hate Him flee before Him. (Psalm 68:1)

Israel to build in Jerusalem

An official in the White House reacted angrily on Wednesday, after Channel 10 News reported that Israel had approved tenders for the construction of 300 new homes in Jerusalem and plans to build more housing units beyond the “Green Line”.

The report explained that the tenders in question, for construction in Jerusalem’s Ramot neighborhood, were published last November, right after the Palestinian Authority’s unilateral move at the United Nations which got it upgraded to the status of a non-member observer state, and before U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry began his latest push for the renewal of peace talks.

Channel 10 cited a Housing Ministry document it had obtained and which discusses the publications of tenders for another 797 new housing units in the Gilo neighborhood.

"Given the Ministry’s decision to immediately market 797 housing units on the site, there is an urgent need to complete the details of the design, as the marketing will be published in the coming weeks," says the document.

A White House official told Channel 10 in response, "We do not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlement construction, which undermines efforts to achieve peace and are contrary to the obligations that Israel undertook upon itself.”

"It is the President’s opinion that Israel should recognize that the settlement policy is not conducive to achieving peace and hampers the Palestinians chances of establishing a state on sustainable borders," added the official. "In our opinion, the two sides must take confidence-building measures, which will make it possible to resume negotiations."

Meanwhile, Yossi Deitch, a member of the Jerusalem City Council, welcomed the decision to build in Jerusalem.
"We are delighted that there is marketing in Ramot, and we turn to the Prime Minister of Israel and tell him, ‘You have thousands of more housing units in Jerusalem’. Jerusalem will not be divided to east and west. All of Jerusalem is the capital of the State of Israel forever," Deitch told Channel 10.
In recent weeks, Kerry has been pushing the sides to resume peace talks, and reports last week indicated that he has proposed that Israel freeze construction east of the 1949 armistice line so the talks can resume.

It was not clear if Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu responded favorably to Kerry’s suggestion of a new construction freeze. Israel formerly froze construction for several months in an attempt to bring the PA back to the negotiating table. The PA agreed to talks shortly before the freeze ended, but refused to continue meeting when the construction ban was not renewed.

Netanyahu has reportedly put a stop to new construction in Judea and Samaria (Shomron), but has not issued a public ban on construction, and has not stopped construction for Israelis in Jerusalem.
It is also not clear if PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has accepted Kerry’s proposal. Since the last construction freeze Abbas has announced other demands that he considers preconditions to talks with Israel.

SCRIPTURES:

The prophetic context is Israel's regathering and end-time restoration. This is one of the most relevant verses relating to the current "two-states, land for peace political process that much of the world wants to force Israel to accept.  Yet these verses are a clear threat by God to judge any and all nations that divide His land.

Joel 3:1-2 "For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem (Jews living in the nations are described by God as living in captivity or exile), I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat ("YHWH is judged"), and will plead with (judge; pronounce sentence on) them there for My people and for My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and divided (and/or plundered) My Land.

God describes how He "sees" His relationship with Israel using a very interesting metaphor:

Zechariah 2:8  "Zion, escape, you who live with the daughter of Babylon, For thus says YHWH of Hosts, after glory He has sent Me to the nations who stripped (spoiled; plundered) you; for he who touches the apple (pupil) of His eye."

Consider that we see the world through the pupil of our eye. God views the world through His chosen filter, His people and His land.

Zechariah 12:2-3, 9  "Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling to all the peoples all around, when they shall come against Judah and Jerusalem. And in that day I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all peoples. All who lift it shall be cut to pieces, and all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it....And it shall be in that day I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem."

NATIONAL EMERGENCY WEEK

Entrance to the "sealed room" in an apartment. For some years now it has been required that new apartments built in Israel contain a sealed room with reinforced walls. The boxes on the stool at the entrance contain gas masks, and injections for use in case of the release of nerve gas in a missile attack. On the box is the simple designation in Hebrew, "Defense Kit". Within the room are also water supplies, and a radio with which to monitor for the 'all clear' signal.

This morning the rising-and-falling wail of the "incoming missile" siren sounded over all of Israel. It wasn't for real this time; a drill rather, for people in businesses and children in schools to practice getting to where they will need to be when they really are coming in. Tonight it will sound again, a practice for families at home. This is all part of a two-day nationwide chemical warfare drill, as part of an entire week devoted to examining and testing the nation's readiness for national emergency. At his weekly cabinet meeting yesterday morning, Prime Minister Netanyahu spoke of Israel as being "the most threatened state in the world." After all, the largest stockpile of poisonous gas in existence lies a few miles away in Syria. This week it was finally publically acknowledged what was already known, that the Shi'ite Hezbollah forces based in southern Lebanon are fighting, with Iranian support, in Syria on behalf of the besieged Assad. The Syrian President is also being aided by Russia. But it is also now clearly known that among the leading factions fighting against Assad are jihadists openly linked with al Qaeda. If Israel sees the WMD's headed for either the Hezbollah or Al Qaeda, she will take measures to stop them. Although they are enemies following separate streams of Islam, these two groups harbor a common hatred of Israel. For his part, Assad has, according to a Sunday Times report deployed long-range missiles capable of carrying 1,100 lb. warheads with their coordinates set on Tel Aviv, with orders that they be prepared to fire should Israel attack again.

Meanwhile, a Foreign Policy "Middle East Brief" examined the ways in which Iran is continuing to expand its nuclear activities. Israelis were encouraged by a US Senate resolution last week demanding American support should Israel find it necessary to attack the Iranian nuclear facilities. The resolution, which was passed with the approval of all but one Senator read:

"If the Government of Israel is compelled to take military action in legitimate self-defense against Iran's nuclear weapons program, the United States Government should stand with Israel and provide, in accordance with United States law and the constitutional responsibility of Congress to authorize the use of military force, diplomatic, military, and economic support to the Government of Israel in its defense of its territory, people, and existence."

This Sunday our Benyamin Netanyahu ended his remarks to the Cabinet on "Emergency Week" by asserting, "In the end, no protection can be a substitute for the striking power of the IDF and the stamina and strength of the Israeli public in time of attack."

We are grateful for the American Senate's initiative; and we think we understand where our Prime Minister is 'coming from' with his remarks. But of course, neither the support of our allies, nor the "striking power" of our military, nor the "stamina and strength" of our citizens is enough. Yes, we are in need of wise and skilled strategy and timing by our governmental and military leaders, and prudently planned preparations for our citizens. But most of all we are in need of the counsels and protection of God. Psalm 33:11 tells how those counsels "stand forever"-the thoughts of His heart "from generation to generation".

We mentioned the boxes for Israeli gas-masks bearing the description "Defense Kit". The word for "defense" here is the word magen which, in the English translation of the Hebrew Scriptures is at least 45 times translated "shield".

PLEASE PRAY:
*That Israel will be adequately prepared on the 'home front' for any future attack from outside her borders. Pray for the mercies of God to release His divine counsels into the consciousness of those formulating and implementing these preparations.

*For the truth of Psalm 44:3 to come into the awareness of our leaders, "It was not by our sword that we won the land, nor did our arm bring us the victory, it was Your right hand, Your arm and the Light of Your face, for You loved us."

*THE FOLLOWING AND OTHER MAGEN-"SHIELD" PASSAGES OVER ISRAEL:
Genesis 15:1. "Do not be afraid, Abram, I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward."

Deuteronomy 33:29. "Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the LORD, the shield of your help and the sword of your majesty!

Psalm 3:1-3. "LORD, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me. Many are they who say of me, 'There is no help for him in God.' But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head."Psalm 28:7-9. "The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him. Save Your people, and bless Your inheritance; Shepherd them also, and bear them up forever."

Psalm 33:20-22. "We wait in hope for the LORD, He is our help and our shield; in Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His holy name. May Your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in You."

WORD TO THE NATIONS

WHO"S LAND IS IT?

This comment was recently posted on Facebook: “They may be God’s chosen people, but that does not give them the right to deprive others of their land and their homes and their livelihoods. God loves those who seek JUSTICE, not land.”

And that got me thinking — whose land is it anyway? Let us respond according to the Word of God.

Psalm 24:1-2 The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers.

King David says it so clearly in this verse: the Earth, the entire world belongs to the creator. When you think of a creative masterpiece, who initially owns that piece of art? The people who have created it. They are the only people who truly own it; they see its full potential, they see it with a vision for its ultimate destiny. They are trying to express an idea or a vision, to capture the inexpressible and share it with others. Then they choose who and how they will give their masterpiece to someone else. This is what God did when He created the world. He built paradise and shared it with mankind. So it truly is His to give to whomever He chooses. As we look further into Scripture we can see that He has made it very clear who is the rightful recipient of the Land of Israel.

Deuteronomy 32:8-9 When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided mankind, he fixed the borders of the peoples according to the number of the Children of Israel. But the Lord’s portion is his people, Jacob his allotted heritage.

From this verse, we learn that the Most High gave each nation their inheritance; He divided mankind, and fixed the borders. Moreover, he fixed the borders of the nations, based on what the Children of Israel would require!  God’s borders, then, are not set by governments or political parties. When I think about all of the borders that have been drawn and re-drawn in my short lifetime, I find it amazing that the borders of Israel cause so much angst for almost every nation on earth! When you look at it with a purely natural eye, the situation in Israel today with regard to borders is beyond ludicrous!  If someone remodels their kitchen, or adds a porch to their house in Judea or Samaria, it causes consternation from the White House to the Kremlin, to parliaments across the world, and of course in The Hague.  National borders changed and entire countries were created between the two world wars and no one made a fuss.  So why is Israel different?  Could it be because there is a spiritual element involved?

Genesis 12:1-8 Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.  I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”  So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.  Then Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother’s son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people whom they had acquired in Haran, and they departed to go to the land of Canaan. So they came to the land of Canaan. Abram passed through the land to the place of Shechem, as far as the Oak of Moreh (Alon Moreh). And the Canaanites were then in the land.  Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your descendants I will give this land.”And there he built an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.  And he moved from there to the mountain east of Bethel, and he pitched his tent with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; there he built an altar to the Lord and called on the name of the Lord.

This one Scripture has two very important themes, 1) God’s commandment to Abram, first “Go to the land that I will show you”, and secondly His initial promise, “To your descendants, I will give this land”.  2) There are four very distinct city names mentioned, Shechem, Alon Moreh, Bethel and Ai.  Look closely at this map to see where all four of these named cities are located.  All four are found in the area that today the world calls the “West Bank”. This is the area that our friend on Facebook says doesn’t belong to the Jewish people. Where Jews are “land-grabbing” and forcing Palestinians out of house and home. When we look at this map with our Bible open and we read God’s commandment, “Go to the land that I will show you”, and then His promise, “To your descendants I will give this land”, it paints a very powerful picture. I think we can begin to see why world leaders get heartburn when a Jew builds a house in Judea or Samaria. He is fulfilling God’s commandment and partaking of God’s promise. The devil never likes to see anyone obey God or walking in the blessing of God.

Genesis 17:19-21 19 Then God said: “No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him. And as for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall beget twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation. But My covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this set time next year.”

God knew what was going to happen in the twentieth century, when He fulfilled His promise to return the descendants of Abraham to the Land of Israel. He knew that the modern State of Israel would be established in 1948, and the Arab world would dispute Israel’s legitimacy. God states very clearly to Abraham, your descendants, your heirs to the promise, those that I will establish My covenant with will come through Isaac. Ishmael is your son, and he will also receive an inheritance, but My covenant people will be the sons of Abraham and Isaac.

Rock Attacks
Real News from the Land

Lately, over the last few months there have been numerous rock attacks on cars exiting our town of
Efrat.  I would say that there have been at least 3-5 attacks a week.

What has been happening to our town is not unique to us. All over Judaea and Samaria (what the world erroneously calls the West Bank) there have been hundreds of rock attacks. Some of them have resulted in critical injuries and some have resulted in deaths. In March, Adva Biton was driving with her three daughters when suddenly they were attacked by Arab terrorists throwing rocks. The mother swerved and collided with a truck leaving them all injured. The two year old Adelle was injured severely and is still fighting for her life in the hospital. Her future is unclear.

These are not young children throwing small rocks. These are young adults and adults throwing large rocks and sometimes pushing small boulders over an edge on to the road below.  These are planned acts of terror with a weapon that is deadly. The attacks are aimed at civilians.

The Israeli government has tied the hands of the army and has not allowed them to respond to these acts of terror appropriately. The result has been that the roads have become increasingly dangerous in many areas of Judaea and Samaria including my town of Efrat, just 10 minutes south of Jerusalem.   I want you to imagine a road near your house under constant rock attack from a local gang. How would the police react? Imagine hundreds of these attacks! Of course the police would take severe action. So why doesn’t the government of Israel do anything?

Here is my prediction: As of this writing, Israelis are becoming fed up with the government’s passiveness and have organized protests all over Judaea and Samaria trying to force the hand of the government to respond. The government will ultimately have no choice but to respond as the ever increasing rock attacks and injuries mount. After the response you will start to hear all about it in the mainstream media. Israel will be accused of “disproportionate response” and “excessive force.” We will be accused of being an “apartheid state” that aggressively attacks Palestinians. There will be calls for Israel to withdraw from our Biblical homeland and others will delegitimize and demonize Israel. Some news media outlets will refer to it as “the cycle of violence,” immorally equating the response to terror with terror itself. There of course will be those who try to justify the rock terror by saying that the Jews “stole” the land of the Palestinians hence causing them to have “no choice” but to attack innocents.

Well, there you have it—an update on the behind-the-scenes news and my prediction. I hope that I am proven wrong. If you are a follower of the news out of Israel you will notice that my prediction is basically the playbook of every incident in Israel.

You as a citizen of the world can play your part in helping Israel cope with these kinds of situations. How? By being in touch with your elected officials and local media stations. Let them know that you support Israel. They do count the calls and emails they receive so let your voice be heard.

Of course, prayer is our greatest friend as all of us know that without the help of God Israel could not survive.

Psalm 2:1-6
"Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying, 'Let us break their bonds in pieces and cast away their cords from us.' He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure; Yet I have set My King on My Holy Hill of Zion."

Psalm 33:8-12
"Let all the earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His Heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen as His inheritance."

"WHEN HE UTTERS HIS VOICE."

THUNDER AND LIGHTNING AND UNPRECEDENTED RAINS IN ISRAEL ON SHAVUOT

"When he utters his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he makes the mist rise from the ends of the earth, He makes lightning for the rain, and he brings forth the wind from his storehouses" (Jeremiah 10:13 and 51:16 ESV).

"Ask the LORD for rain in the time of the latter rain. The LORD will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, grass in the field for everyone!" (Zechariah 10:1).

"Clouds and darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. A fire goes before Him, and burns up His enemies round about. His lightnings light the world; the earth sees and trembles.Zion hears and is glad, and the daughters of Judah rejoice because of Your judgments, O LORD. For You, LORD, are most high above all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods!" (Psalm 97:2-4, 8-9).

We thank and bless those of you who have persevered in "asking the LORD for rain in the time of the latter rain" (Zechariah 10:1).
Last week, saw a great rarity for Shavuot in Israel-the very heavens themselves sharing in celebration of the holiday! It is unusual to have substantial rain in Israel after late April. By mid-May the country has already begun to settle into the five-month dry season during which there is virtually no moisture at all until late October.
Yet on this Pentecost, truly came the "Latter Rains", extending from northern Israel to deep in the deserts to the south. Haifa experienced severe flooding; in the Jezreel Valley all outdoor holiday events were cancelled; near the Dead Sea, people had to be rescued from the torrents pouring down through the wadis and over the roads. Many places throughout the Land these rains were accompanied by enormous sky-filling lightnings and thunder and high winds. It is unprecedented for the waters of the Sea of Galilee to rise this late in May. (Before now, the latest documented rising came on April 29, 2006.) Yet during the three days surrounding this May 15th, the lake rose two centimeters!

What is God saying with this? Twice in Jeremiah (see above) it is written that such things occur "when He utters His voice". Of course, many will see this as merely poetic phrasing for a natural phenomenon-thunder. Perhaps that is included in the imagery. Yet notice in the three Scripture passages quoted above-He utters His voice; He makes the mist rise; He makes lightning for the rain; He brings forth the wind. The LORD makes flashing clouds; He will give showers of rain. Clouds and darkness surround Him; a fire goes before Him; His lightnings light the world. These things are not mere natural accidents or happenings. They are HIS! Meant to turn our hearts and thoughts and praises towards Him!
And when they take place in dry and thirsty Israel on one of HIS feast days, it is important that "Zion hears and is glad, and the daughters of Judah rejoice because of Your judgments, O LORD. For You, LORD, are most high above all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods!"

It is certainly an encouragement for us. We endured drought for seven years. Then last year there were "former rains" but few "latter" (none at all after early March). Yet this past winter God poured forth the former rains and broke the drought-and now He has given the latter.and on the day celebrating the release of His Spirit, the sea upon which His Son walked has itself risen at the sound of His voice.

AND YET.at the close of one article which broke the good news came this: "At the same time, the Water Authority warned of a severe drought period that Israelis should prepare themselves for during the years 2015-2035" ("Kinneret rises 2 cm. after Shavuot storms": JPOST.com (The Jerusalem Post); May 20, 2013 17:47 IST). WHEN WILL WE LEARN?!! Only a year ago we were warned of "another dry year"-Yet a higher "Authority" willed otherwise. It is this Authority in Whom we trust! The One who "utters His voice" and there is a "tumult of waters in the heavens"!!

PLEASE PRAY:

*Thanksgiving and praise for the faithfulness of Our God, which has released both former and latter rains over His land and His people Israel this year!

*For clarity of discernment in the Body of Messiah in Israel-to understand what He was saying to the Congregations, and to Israel, and to the World when He "Uttered His Voice" last week on Shavuot, when He commanded and the waters were raised higher than ever before at this season!

*For faith in Israel to trust in her God for her 'weather'. For grace not to be influenced towards discouragement by the prognostications of the "Water Authority" with their predictions of 20 years of drought.

*For the prophets to hear and speak forth HIS word. That Word, even when sent forth in warning, will bear also a message of redemption and hope. It is El Elyon-the "Most High God"-who will not only tell His people when to prepare, but "how to" prepare before the coming of a year of drought.

*For a release of the Fear of the Lord and a dependent yearning on His chesed-loving-kindness within Israel. "For the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear Him, on those who yearn for His loving kindness, to deliver them from death, and to keep them alive in famine" (Psalm 33:18-19).

Praying for Israel

We can pray for Israel, regardless of her current situation. Here are just some areas for intercession that are always in line with God's will.
  • Cry out for Israel to cry out: Call upon Me in the day of trouble, I will deliver you, and you shalt glorify Me. (Psa. 50:15; also 2 Chr. 7:14)
  • Plead for mercy in the midst of God's righteous judgments: LORD, I have heard Your speech, and was afraid. LORD, revive Your work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known. In wrath remember mercy. (Hab. 3:2; also Psa. 85:4)
  • Pray for aliyah: For thus says the LORD, Sing with gladness for Jacob, shout among the chief of the nations: publish, praise, and say, LORD, save your people, the remnant of Israel. Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travails with child together. A great company shall return there. (Jer. 31:7-8; also Psa. 147:2; Isa. 43:5-7; Ezek. 36:23-24)
  • Pray against any "Land for Peace" process: For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for My people and for My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and divided My land. (Joel 3:1-2; also Lev. 25:23; Ezek 35:12-13)
  • Pray for Israel's salvation:
And so all Israel shall be saved, as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob. For this is My covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
    Rom 11:26-27
Turn us again, O God, and cause Your face to shine; and we shall be saved…
Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause Your face to shine; and we shall be saved…
Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause Your face to shine; and we shall be saved.
    Psa 80:3,7,19

  • Intercede for the salvation of Moslems through the destruction of Islam: Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek Your name, LORD. Let them be confounded and troubled for ever. Yes, let them be put to shame, and perish: That men may know that You, whose name alone is YHWH, are the most high over all the earth. (Psa 83:16-18; also Zech 14:16)
  • Intercede for the Church to awake to her responsibility and relationship to Israel:
Ruth said, Do not beg me to leave you, or to turn from following after you, for where you go, I will go. Where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God:
    Ruth 1:16
I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.
    Rom. 11:11
Boast not against the branches. But if you boast, you bear not the root [God's covenantal promises to Israel], but the root you.
    Rom. 11:18
With a biblical foundation for our intercession, we are better able to hear the leading of God's Spirit as He places on our hearts His burdens for the nation of Israel - and the Church - in these days of great shakings.    Portions taken from Intercessors for Israel.
